A Japanese word meaning "perverted" is used in many western countries to refer to anime, manga, and computer games with explicit sexual or pornographic content (see Japanese pornography). However, the Japanese very rarely use the word in this way. More commonly used terms include "jū hachi kin" (prohibited for sale to persons under 18 ), "ecchi/H anime" (sexual/pornographic anime) "eroanime" (derived from erotic anime), or "seinen" (adult, not to be confused with young adult).
